Compiled to be distributed amongst the Police Force only, Police Gazettes contain details and information that can not be found anywhere else.<br> <br> They include court lists, lists of warrants issued, appointments in the Police Service, lists of Justices of the Peace, lists of arrests and discharges and descriptions, inquest verdicts, lost or stolen items, missing stock animals, escaped prisoners and missing persons.</p> <p>Contains 51 or the 52 issues released for the year. </p> <p>Example entry taken from 15 June 1898 issue:</p> <blockquote> <p><u>Explosion of a Bomb in Fitzroy</u><br> See Government Gazette, 10th June, 1898, p.2031<br> Two Hundred Pounds Reward and Free Pardon to Accomplice<br> Whereas on the evening of the 28th May, at about a quarter-past Nine o'clock, a bomb, containing gunpowder and probably dynamite, was exploded on the verandah of Mr.<br><br> Daniel Maloney's house at No. 144 Nicholson-street, Fitzroy, which caused damage to property and was dangerous to life: Notice is hereby given that a Reward of Two hundred pounds will be paid by the Government for information which will lead to the arrest and conviction of the offender of offenders; and also that His Excellency the Administrator of the Government will extend Her Majesty's Free Pardon to any person concerned in the offence who gives the desired information, provided the informant was not himself the perpetrator of it.<br> A.J.
